(Singapore) StarHub offers young bands chance to open for Hoobastank

Whilst the trend for offering aspiring bands the chance to perform at massive events is nothing new (Topman Unsigned Stage at Leeds festival etc.) there has been a recent surge in websites getting peers to vote for a winner (startomorrow.com with Nissan & Marc Ecko being an example).

Singapore tends be quite behind with initiatives like this, and so we see StarHub (a Singapore info-comms brand) leveraging their sponsorship of a forthcoming Hoobastank gig with a straight-up honest votes-for-prizes opportunity for a lucky band.

Visitors to ripplevox.com can either upload a track or vote for their favourite, which would result in 5 bands performing live in front of a panel of judges and fans.  The winner would then…oh, I can’t be bothered to type it out – you know what happens next…
