So last night I was sat on the tube wondering why all the London Paper’s looked like they’d been Rasta’d, and then I saw it was Ikea with a rallying cry to consumers to end the tyranny of bland beigeness overtaking their homes.

They also have what is actually a very good microsite where you can mess around with a beige room and make it more colourful. It’s not over-technical or anything like that, but works really smoothly and brings Ikea to life. Here’s the tasteful room I put together…

Not only that, there are also films and tips, as well as a nice amount of interactivity, and you can see how a design you like might look in a room without having to queue up for hours then realise you have to take it back ‘cos it’s too much.

A great site, and one that I’ll be recommending to ‘my gang’, who all seem to be bloody buying houses!
