Following the slightly-odd launch of a fragrance in Second Life by Calvin Klein, Diageo continues the questionable marketing activity taking place online by launching a virtual ‘bar kit’.
The kit will be available in select bars and nightclubs (presumably not the strip joints I tried to access when I visited!), such as the popular Irish pub ‘The Blarney Stone’.
Okay, its actually not a completely stupid idea as it aims to link virtual drinkers through their choice of alcohol, which kind of reflects real life - I don’t know about you but I take some pride in drinking whisky with lemonade and not cola, and I wouldn’t be interested in talking to someone drinking WKD. Not even in a virtual strip club!
