Scion uses virtual scavenger hunt in Second Life

June 18th, 2007 · No Comments

Scion is using a scavenger hunt in Second Life to activate its sponsorship of an event to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society.  The goal of the hunt is to increase awareness of MS and to raise funds.

Once registered, players become avatars and receive an MS Fly cape which lets them fly to great heights, along with a Scion beanie (presumably because its virtually cold in the virtual clouds).  As they fly along, players look for clues that let them access new phases of the hunt, with each phase bringing new incentives and more funds for MS.

Players who complete the hunt get a chance to win one of 20 flying virtual Scion xB vehicles, which are produced exclusively for the event.

Scion is also expanding Scion City, adding new shops, houses, work and living spaces.
