I really like this.
Nintendo is promoting the Wii game ’Big Brain Academy’ via a TV-style game show to find Britain’s brainiest family in shopping centres around the UK, created by BD-Ntwk.
The campaign brings to life the excellent strategy of targeting people that aren’t traditional gamers which has seen Nintendo double it’s profits. Families can register online to compete against each other for a chance to take place in a national final, hosted by GMTV’s Lorraine Kelly, where they will be able to win their child’s university tuition fees, as well as other prizes.
What’s great for me is how comfortably Nintendo has slipped it’s Wii in and stolen the favourite boardgame…no longer are traditional family values threatended by computer games…if anything, I’d expect some families are actually experiencing stronger ties because if you think about it, Mum and Dad can now talk to Jenny and Peter in their language and with a shared interest that is also a shared experience.
Damn you Nintendo…I’ve only just memorised all the Trivial Pursuits questions!!!!
