Habbo UK is giving kids the chance to launch their very own online record label to scout and promote talent in the virtual world.
At a time when ther eis much diversification and fragmentation of label services, the Trax Factor competition aims to inspire youngsters to try their hand at creating their own mini-music industry within Habbo with user-generated content at its heart.
Teens will be required to organise everything themselves in the virtual world, including setting up their record label, promoting it, signing up artists and promoting a chosen single.
The focus is on creativity and imagination within the virtual world, and Habbo’s need to think of ways to create their record label office, build the recording studio, organise launch parties in Habbo Hotel, and of course, attract and sign-up talent to their label.
Artists need to get noticed and signed, and will create their own single with the Traxmachine, Habbo’s online music mixing and sampling tool. Labels will then need to increase their artist’s popularity by hosting events, touring popular clubs within Habbo, arranging home page autograph signings and creating games.
