So with the rise of record labels increasing interest in brands, are we seeing ‘retaliation’ from the brands themselves? Red Bull are reported to be the latest brand making inroads into the record industry, although in a slightly more aggressive manner than Starbucks.
Word is that they are setting up their own recording studio and work with artists on full releases. CMU Daily also makes an interesting point - will they do a distribution deal with another label, or exploit their existing distribution network to reach consumers?
