Orange have announced some details around their activity at this years Glastonbury festival.
The ‘Chill and Charge’ tent is back, although I’m slightly confused as they’re trialling a charger that uses kinetic energy generated by dancing to charge the phones. So not sure if ‘Chill and Charge’ is the best name this time round if that is their PR angle. Not that any normal punters will either notice nor care!
Last years massively well received Spot The Bull is back, along with a piece of technology that allows people to download an interactive version of the site map and programme. This is a great little thing that I think was developed by Nokia over the last couple of years, much to the worry of festival merchandise rights holders - why would you buy a programme with set times and a map if you can download one for free? But it would be interesting to find out how successful the Orange version is, because I don’t think the take-up was that great for Nokia.
But, as ever, I will be as far away from Glastonbury as possible, enjoying all the creature comforts one can experience at the same time - cup of tea, dry socks, no crowds, ice cold beer etc. etc. And a clean toilet.
